Marco: I am interested to see that you have been reading Yoder and about him. What is your opinion? I have only read "The Politics of Jesus" plus some online reviews and summaries.

Would you tell us why you feel this way? |

I thought it might be good to have Yoder as his own topic. I'm sure everyone has an opinion.
I must say I have never read Yoder but am now intrigued by what I've heard on this forum, that I might actually get one of his books to check it out. |

On Yoder... |

I found Yoder's focus on Jesus as a norm for ethics and the Christian life a refreshing viewpoint. I was tired of hearing Christian ethicists shove Jesus aside for a 'natural' ethic, or an 'ethic of the Father God'; especially to justify killing in the name of the nation state.
In short, Yoder's approach to theology changed my mind about a lot of things... and has made me very passionate about peace, ecumenism, and theology in general.
peace,
Marco Funk
PS. if you have any questions about Yoder's theology, just ask... I'm no expert, but I have read over half his books and am continuing untill I read them all.

I didn't realize you were addressing my post on Yoder's book "The Jewish Christian Schism Revisited".
